Father D'Angelo recently posted a message to the Parish community regarding the threat of arrest and deportation facing immigrants in New York and across the United States -- our friends and neighbors and family.
Dear Friends,
As a Catholic priest serving our community in Manhattan, I feel compelled to speak out against the deportations that have become a distressing reality for many of our neighbors. It is crucial to remember that not every immigrant is a criminal; many come to our great nation seeking a better life, driven by the same hopes and dreams that we all share.
Immigrants contribute richly to our society, working hard to support their families and uplift their communities. They deserve compassion, understanding, and the opportunity to thrive here, just as we all do.
Let us stand together in solidarity, advocating for justice and humane treatment for all individuals, regardless of their immigration status. Our faith calls us to love our neighbors and to seek a just world for everyone.
